# Best direct mail software for contractors

> There are two kinds of direct mail vendor: print shops that will mail your design to a list, and software that runs campaigns off your CRM. Contractors need the second kind, because the only campaign that reliably happens is the one nobody has to remember. Seven platforms, judged on four questions.

> **How this was written** Vendor details reflect each company's public website and documentation as of August and September 2026, and a capability a vendor does not advertise is described as "not advertised." Mailr is our product; the comparison pages linked below source every claim about the two closest competitors.

## The four questions

- Does it run off the CRM? A completed job or won deal should mail the neighbors without a person doing anything. Anything that needs a CSV export every week will be abandoned by March.
- Is the card about the homeowner? Merge fields (a name, a street) are table stakes. A render of the recipient's own house with your work on it is the current ceiling.
- What does it really cost per card? Add any subscription, amortized over your monthly volume, to the per-card price before comparing.
- Can it prove what it made? Per-card QR tracking, tracked calls, and geo matchback, reported as closed revenue per campaign.

## The seven

- [Mailr](https://getmailr.com/product/home-render-postcards): CRM triggers across 12 home-service CRMs; every Home Render card shows the recipient's own house with your work rendered on it and every QR opens a page about that house; pay per card ($1.35 down to $1.05 Home Render, $1.20 down to $0.90 Classic) with no subscription; attribution from scan to closed deal plus geo matchback. Renders live for roofing and permanent lighting; Classic cards for any trade. No EDDM, texts, or gifts.
- [DOPE Marketing](https://getmailr.com/compare/dope-marketing): CRM automations, radius campaigns (Neighborhood Blitz), EDDM, yard signs, and door hangers from an in-house print facility; template library with a human design team. One template per campaign; merge fields and per-recipient QR codes. Plans from $250 a month on its own pages plus $0.69 to $0.99 per card, with a 90-day minimum commitment in its Terms of Use; otherwise sales-call pricing. Matchback reporting.
- [SendJim](https://getmailr.com/compare/sendjim): Multi-channel: postcards, handwritten cards, letters, gifts, ringless voicemail, texts. 34 named CRM integrations plus Zapier, API, and webhooks. Mail-merge personalization. $99, $299, and $599 a month plus credits (a 4×6 card around $0.88 to $1.74 depending on plan). 14-day trial. US only per its FAQ.
- **Postalytics**: Direct mail automation with native HubSpot integration and Zapier to thousands of other systems; personalized URLs and QR codes with response data written back to the CRM. General-purpose, strongest for marketing teams already on HubSpot.
- **PostcardMania**: Large print-and-mail house with contractor and roofing template libraries, list targeting, EDDM, campaign management, and results tracking. A service more than a software product; pricing on consultation.
- **Mail Shark**: Roofing-focused programs: aerial imagery and AI to target by roof condition and material, weekly neighborhood mailings, radius mailings with postcard magnets. JobNimbus and ServiceTitan integrations. Pricing on request.
- **Wise Pelican**: Self-serve postcards from about $1.04 a card, no minimum, free standard shipping, a map-based list builder, and same-day printing before noon Pacific. A very good print shop; CRM triggers and attribution not advertised.

## Which one, for whom

- A roofer or permanent lighting company that wants each card to show the homeowner's own house, mail triggered from the CRM, and a ROAS number: Mailr.
- A contractor mailing 5,000+ cards a month who wants EDDM, yard signs, and permit filters from one vendor: DOPE Marketing.
- A business running texts and voicemail alongside mail: SendJim.
- A HubSpot marketing team adding mail to existing workflows: Postalytics.
- A one-off campaign with a finished design: Wise Pelican, or PostcardMania if you want a team on it.
- A roofer targeting by roof condition from the air: Mail Shark.

## Direct mail software: common questions

### What is the best direct mail software for roofing companies?

For CRM-triggered mail with per-home personalization and attribution, Mailr, which connects to AccuLynx, JobNimbus, RoofLink, Leap, JobTread, and ProLine and renders each recipient's roof replaced. DOPE Marketing and Mail Shark are the strongest alternatives for high volume and aerial targeting respectively.

### Which direct mail software integrates with Housecall Pro or Jobber?

Mailr integrates natively with Housecall Pro, with signed webhooks so triggers fire within seconds. SendJim lists a broad integration catalog. Check each vendor's integration page for Jobber, which changes over time.

### Is direct mail software worth it for a small contractor?

Yes if it is pay-as-you-go. A small contractor's most valuable campaign is the neighbors of each completed job, which is a few hundred dollars a month in mail; a $250 monthly platform fee on top of that doubles the cost. Choose a per-card model until volume justifies a plan.
