# Radius mailing: postcards to the neighbors of every job

> Radius mailing, neighborhood blitz, nearest-neighbors: whatever the vendor calls it, the idea is the same. A job finishes, and the homes around it get a card. Done by hand it happens on the jobs someone remembers. Done from the CRM it happens on all of them.

## Why the neighbors respond

A radius card is not a cold piece of mail. The recipient watched the truck in the driveway, the crew on the roof, and the dumpster in the street. Some of them walked over and asked about it. The card that arrives the next week is a follow-up to something they already noticed, and it usually names the street, which no other advertising they receive that week will do.

That is why a radius campaign outperforms a neighborhood campaign at the same size, and why it should be the first direct mail a contractor sets up.

## How many homes

Twenty-five to fifty. That covers the homes that can see the job from a front door or a driveway, which is the group with the strongest response. Past fifty, the recipients did not see the work, and the campaign becomes a neighborhood campaign that should be filtered by property facts instead. Mailr's automations offer the 10, 25, or 50 nearest homes by default, and a map campaign for anything larger.

## When the card should land

Within seven to ten days of the job. The memory of the work fades fast, and the yard sign comes down. The only reliable way to hit that window on every job is a trigger from the CRM: the moment a job is marked complete or a deal is won, the campaign is queued, and the cards print the next business day. CRMs with webhooks (HubSpot, Housecall Pro, AccuLynx, GoHighLevel, Leap, ProLine, PaintScout, JobTread) fire within seconds; the rest are swept hourly.

## What the card should show

Their house. The radius card is the natural home of the one-of-one render: the recipient's own home with the same work you just did next door already on it. A neighbor reference on the back ("we just replaced the roof at the corner of your street") and one offer close it. If you are running a Classic card, use a photo of the finished job around the corner rather than stock.

## Setting it up in Mailr

1. **Connect the CRM** — OAuth or API key. HubSpot, Housecall Pro, JobNimbus, AccuLynx, GoHighLevel, Leap, ProLine, RoofLink, PaintScout, Builder Prime, JobTread, or Service Fusion.
2. **Bind the event** — Job completed, deal won, or estimate approved. Filter it: only jobs over a dollar threshold, only one service line, only one crew.
3. **Set the radius and the card** — 10, 25, or 50 nearest homes; a Home Render or a Classic template in your brand. Approve once. The campaign runs on every qualifying job from then on, deduped so no home is mailed twice for one job.

## Three details that matter

- Suppression. The moment a neighbor becomes a customer in the CRM, they leave every future audience. You never pay to advertise to someone you already closed.
- Do-not-mail. Any homeowner who asks to be removed joins a platform-wide list that every Mailr customer honors.
- Attribution. Every card's QR is unique to that house, and new CRM customers are matched back against mailed addresses, so each job's radius campaign reports the revenue it produced.

## Radius mailing: common questions

### What is radius mailing?

Mailing postcards to the homes closest to a completed job, typically the 25 to 50 nearest, within about a week of finishing. Vendors also call it neighborhood blitz or nearest-neighbors mailing.

### How much does a radius campaign cost?

At Mailr's per-card rates, a 50-card Home Render campaign is roughly $65, and a Classic campaign roughly $55, with printing, postage, the landing page, and tracking included. There is no subscription.

### Can I run radius mailing without a CRM?

Yes. Enter the job address, pick the radius and the card, and launch. Connecting a CRM later makes it automatic on every job.
