Is Mailr cheaper than DOPE?
Below roughly 5,000 cards a month, yes. Mailr has no subscription, so a card costs what a card costs; DOPE's $250–$1,500 monthly plans amortize into every card you send, and their Terms of Use add a 90-day minimum commitment. Above roughly 5,000 cards a month, DOPE's $1,500/mo DOPEST plan brings its per-card rate low enough to win on price — run your own volume through the calculator on this page.
What does AI design cost on DOPE vs Mailr?
DOPE's AI design editor bills $0.50 per credit on every plan, and a postcard takes two credits — one per side. Designing 125 cards costs about $125 a month on top of the subscription. Mailr's optional $50/month subscription includes 125 AI card designs a month, with your brand imported straight from your website. Sending mail on Mailr never requires a subscription.
Does DOPE personalize the card?
DOPE offers custom text on handwritten cards and unique QR codes, and now a pay-per-credit AI design editor. The printed design itself is one template per campaign. Every Mailr Home Render card is generated from that recipient's own house.
Does DOPE offer landing pages?
We found none advertised — DOPE's QR scans fire alerts and CRM follow-ups. Mailr's QR opens a landing page personalized to that home, built in our landing page designer with lead capture, and you can run Meta, Google, and HubSpot pixels on it for retargeting.
Does DOPE require a contract or sales call?
DOPE's plans start at $250/month, their Terms of Use impose a 90-day minimum commitment, and current plan pricing is quoted on a sales call. All sales are final — their terms put it plainly: “If you signed up for our services but did not make use of them, then you are still entitled to pay us.” Mailr has no required subscription and no sales call — sign up self-serve, buy prepaid credits, and pay only for cards that actually mail.
Where does DOPE actually win?
A full in-house print shop: handwritten cards, goodie boxes, EDDM, yard signs, and door hangers, plus an included human design team for subscribers. Permit-history targeting filters ($3 per permit retrieved) that Mailr doesn't offer. And above roughly 5,000 cards a month, their $1,500/mo DOPEST plan can beat Mailr on per-card price. If those are what you need, DOPE is the right tool.
Does Mailr offer EDDM?
No — DOPE offers EDDM route saturation and Mailr deliberately doesn't. Every Mailr card is addressed to a specific household, rendered from that home, and tracked piece by piece. Blanketing every door on a route is the opposite of the product.
Who has better targeting data?
DOPE offers permit-history targeting filters that Mailr doesn't have. Mailr includes map targeting with property filters — home value, year built, and more — free on every campaign, where DOPE's property filters cost extra.
We're in Canada. Does either work?
Mailr is live in Canada with native printing and CAD pricing. We found no Canada capability advertised by DOPE.
